Montreat Youth Conference is an annual event for high school youth which welcomes nearly 3,500 students over the course of six week-long conferences. Participants engage in reformed worship, small group sessions, and recreational activities built around a yearly theme. 

“In • Joy” was selected as the 2023 conference theme by a group of high school volunteers seeking happier times in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. To support their goal of creating an event that promoted feelings of peace, happiness, and love among its attendees, I sought to create a brand identity inspired by the 1960’s ‘flower power’ movement. In the final design, simplistic flowers accompany a retro, brush script. Colors radiate out from the center of the design, mimicking tie-dye patterns and kaleidoscopes.
